Examples of work from 2008; commissions and weddings as well as images that I've made for myself. I'd welcome any feedback, comments or questions that you may have
The title image shows John and Susan walking back down the aisle after their marriage at Caister near Norwich, yes, I do travel! This is a good example of the journalistic style of wedding photography; I've got myself up on a step (to avoid the backs of heads) and taken the shot with a fast lens and a high ISO. No flash so I'm not noticed, my thanks to Brian Barrett ABIPP for his help on that occasion

We've all forgotten how cold it was! At December brides and bridesmaids needed to be sure to have a wrap to throw over their shoulders for those outdoor shots
The light is bright, the air clear and fresh; I like to use the bright background for high key bridal portrait photographs like this one for Shona and Jo's wedding at Allesley near Coventry and afterwards at the Heart of England Conference Centre, Meriden
My last wedding of the year, we're lucky with the weather, cold and crisp - I'm rather glad that I can keep my warm coat on!
St Nicholas Church in Henley in Arden, beautifully decorated for Christmas and very light. There is a private road leading to the old Rectory behind the church my suggestion that we use the lane for the car is met with complaints from a very possesive resident - beware! The delightful reception was held at the Charlecote Pheasant
This is the scene just past the ford at Kenilworth, were the road not black and shiny it would be rather Narniaesque, I was playing with exposures to catch car light trails, this one worked rather well I thought
We shouldn't have been too surprised by this winter's weather, below is Abbey Fields Kenilworth in October! St Johns Church spire can be seen rising behind the trees on the right
English Heritage asked me to take some publicity shots of the knot garden at Kenilworth Castle as it was nearing completion. Unlike a wedding shoot where you cannot choose your weather, when on a photographic commission such as this you can take the photographs on a day which has weather to suit, this August morning was perfect
As you can see there was still quite a bit work to be done and the aviary is yet to receive its new tenants, but when finished the knot garden at Kenilworth Castle will make a beautiful photographic venue for couples who have married in the nearby Kenilworth Castle Gatehouse. There are more images on English Heritage's site
And here it is almost a year on, June 2009
